On the heels of “The Hunt” and “The Monarch and The Milkweed” Goodwin is proud to announce their third studio release: “Then Rain, Then Wind.” This EP finds the band collaborating with poets across time and space to bring aged yet ever-salient words to a new generation.“Working with writers from as far back as the 12th century certainly posed a host of unique challenges,” says guitarist and vocalist Michael E Goodwin, “and, without question, opened up new vistas for us. We labored diligently to create appropriate sonic landscapes for each poem, and we hope that each poet would recognize the hues and tones of their own culture.”By setting the words of Emily Dickinson, Rabindranath Tagore, Charles Baudelaire, Langston Hughes, and Li Qinghzhao to music, Goodwin has created a work that aims to highlight the essential human longings that tie us all together.“Though these poets come from very different backgrounds and lived in very different eras,” says Goodwin, “they all speak to the dangers of alienation and the critical importance of community. As such, these poems are perhaps more relevant than ever.”Join Michael, vocalist Emily Campagna, percussionist Yahuba Garcia, violinist Anne Preis, and cellist Celia Sieckert at The Wright Tavern as they perform and discuss the new album while sprinkling in some other fan favorites.
